The markets continue to be volatile, unpredictable and seriously exciting. The general concensus appears to be that the markets have taken a lot of the heat out of the encouraging increases over the past few months which is not a bad thing at all.

At Stirling Independent, we have sympathy for this thought but we also feel that the major banks are still playing a 'waiting game' which is not helping confidence levels at all. Once they start to get their act together, and try and be of some 'service' to their customers, we may see confidence return to the investment world.

Having said that, mortgages and investors are on the increase as people are wishing to take the opportunity to invest now, while the markets are lower. Naturally, we agree with this because it is a potentially rewarding move.

All investors should accept the fact that it may be several months before we see real positive returns and a somewhat settled market - but also expect some surprises as ever.

People make the most out of the markets when they buck the trend and invest when others are pulling out. Proper independent advice must be taken before embarking on this dangerous road to potential riches.
